Altitude - 1700 - 1750 MASL
Preparation - Washed
Location - El Cascaja, Huila, Colombia
Variety - Pink Bourbon
Profile - Red grape, strawberry, caramel, sweet
What we have here is our very first pink bourbon. Pink bourbon is a naturally occurring mutation of yellow and red bourbons varieties. Because it’s a recessive mutation the farmers need to take great care in isolating and separating the cherries and have to always pick them at the exact right time. Because if this pink bourbons are very rare and highly coveted in the coffee world.
Flavour wise this coffee is extremely complex and sweet. Really vibrant notes of strawberry and red grape with a light carmel body make for an incredible coffee that’s ideally suited to filter brewing. Maybe a little bit acidic for espresso preparation but to each their own! If you are a fan of Kenyan coffees and really clean and sweet coffees you will really enjoy this rare treat.
